Præsidentkandidater støtter Lamont

Mark Warner, den tidligere guvernør i Virginia, der er af mange regnes for at være førsteudfordrer til Hillary Clinton i kampen om at blive demokraternes præsidentkandidat har, som ventet, valgt at støtte Ned Lamont. På sin hjemmeside www.forwardtogetherpac.com skriver han følgende:

I congratulate Ned Lamont on a great grassroots campaign, and wish him
success in November. I and our PAC, Forward Together, will be supporting the
Lamont campaign. Connecticut Democrats are mirroring the frustrations most
Americans feel with this President’s failed foreign policy and mishandled war. I
also commend Senator Lieberman for his remarkable record of public
service.

En anden håbefuld præsidentkandidat, John Edwards, har allerede givet tilsagn om at han kommer til Connecticut for at campaigne for Lamont. Sen. Hillary Clinton var i øvrigt den første der efter Lamonts sejr skrev en symbolsk check på 5000 $ til hans kampagne.
